This was the view that we had from our condo in Panama City Beach, FL. This was April of 2006 on our honeymoon. I almost didn't want to come back home...
Looking to the left
Looking straight out
Looking to the right
As pretty as the water and beaches are in Florida, I can't help but love our water here in Mississippi...
That's Deer Island in the background, which got hit especially hard by Katrina, and big brown pelicans on the posts in the water. I love this picture because the water looks like glitter from the afternoon sun.
And here's couple from Horn Island. We went out there yesterday...so much fun and I'll probably blog more about it later today.

Summer Menu (BBC)
Crawfish.
'Nuff said!
That is some good stuff. I like mine nice and spicy, and a crawfish boil is always a good excuse to get together with family and friends, or is it family and friends getting together is a good excuse to boil some crawfish? Anyway here are some pics of Ethan's first crawfish boil. He didn't get to taste any this time, but after he turned a year, we let him try some and he loved it.
Crawfish before...

Lauren says she's not going anywhere near that thing!

Crwafish during...just add corn and potates...mmm-mmm

Hot and heavy

The women got to sit and relax while the men did all the work (maybe we should do another boil!) Of course Mammy is holding the baby!

It's so easy being this cute

Cool dude...

Vacation (BBC)
I feel like a kindergartener...My dream vacation, by Sarah Duda. My dream vacation is to go on a long cruise to a tropical place. The end.
One where its about 80* during the day, cool breeze. No kids, no hubby...then again, I might get lonely so I guess hubby can come too. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I like being around the water, in a warm place. I hate being cold, so anything to do with that is out.
The one and only "vacation" was really our honeymoon to Panama City Beach. That was 2 years ago but feels almost like a lifetime since we have had Ethan since then and that alone feels like starting all over again (FYI, my kids are 9 years apart) It was just me and Craig which was awesome . In the 11 years that we've been together it was the first trip we haven taken by ourselves. I am sooooooo ready to do that again...

Summer Songs (BBC)

I put up a playlist player at the bottom of my page. Feel free to listen to it or if it gets on your nerves, there's a pause button on it that you can use.
This is me at the Kenny Chesney/Gretchen Wilson concert Summer of 2006. The pics aren't that great b/c they were taken on my old 35mm camera before I got my digi. Anyway, I wasn't much of a fan of KC -that was my cousin Martye. But I was familiar with a few of his songs. I loved me some Redneck Woman Gretchen, though. So we went to the concert and had a really good time. Since then, and after burning a couple of his CD's, I have grown to really enjoy his music. One of his CD's, Be as You Are (Songs From an Old Blue Chair) especially reminds of summer time, and I always bring that one on the boat with us.
Kenny puts on one hell of a show!
Gettin' down with Gretchen...
As with any coastal town, one of the faves is Jimmy Buffet. Now I am nowhere near being a parrot head, but I do occasionally enjoy listening to him. Besides that we are getting our very own Margaritaville here in Biloxi!!! YAY!!! So Jimmy's on here as a tribute to that! Now where's my salt...?

Aaaaaaaah, Refreshing! (BBC)

How refreshing! My old favorite of Neutrogena Triple Moisture conditioner. I use this after going to the beach or out on the boat for that deep conditioning that's needed after being in the salt and sun. And I rarely use it during the winter. But, for me, it's one of those smells that take you back-back to when I was able to go out on the boat every weekend. Since having Ethan I haven't been able to go out on the boat like I used to. And I haven't been camping on the islands in about 2 years. I am dying to go camping. Unfortunately it will have to wait until, at the earliest, next fall. It has gotten too hot.
My new fave is Dove Go Fresh energize beauty bar in lemon grass. Talk about smelling good! And it has little bits in it that exfoliate. Yummy!

Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT (BBC)

So, assignment number one is to blog about something HOT...
How's this for hot? 102* in the shade. We in the South have HOT summers, hot and humid, hot and muggy, hot and smothering. Take a shower, go outside and your shirt sticks to you and you feel the need for another shower. That's why so many of us are beach bums, pool bums, river and creek (that would be pronounced crik) bums. Why we love being on the boat, on jet skis, on the islands. We need the water and the breeze that comes with it, to cool off because it's just too damn HOT!
